Kauai’s Kirby Yates tosses scoreless inning in ASG

Kauai’s Kirby Yates pitched a scoreless inning at the All-Star Game in Arlington, Texas on Tuesday, helping the American League preserve a 5-3 win over the National League.

The 2024 edition of the midsummer classic was Yates’ second All-Star selection, as he was named one in 2019, but Tuesday was just first time pitching in the game.

Yates struck out two in a perfect eighth inning, getting credit for the hold.

When the second half of the 2024 MLB season resumes, Yates will go back to the Texas Rangers, which hosted the All-Star Game on Tuesday
