HONOLULU (KHON2) -- A 70-acre wildland fire ignited in Waikoloa on Sunday evening, authorities report.
According to the Hawai'i Fire Department, several hot spots persist, and crews will remain on the scene throughout the night to continue firefighting efforts.
The fire has reportedly moved south, away from residential areas.
For safety reasons, Pua Amelia Street is currently closed and will remain closed.
Residents are advised to avoid the area.
