Hawaii's Isiah Kiner-Falefa is headed to Pittsburgh.
The Mid-Pacific graduate was traded from the Blue Jays to Pirates in the last hour of the MLB Trade Deadline on Tuesday.
According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the seventh year infielder will head to Pittsburgh in exchange for outfield prospect Charles McAdoo.
Kiner-Falefa, who was in his first season with the Blue Jays, enjoyed a solid first half of the season, hitting a career best .292 with seven home runs and 33 RBI. The 29-year-old hasn't played in the big leagues though since June 30 due to a left knee sprain but has already played two minor league rehab games and is expected to be activated in the next few days.
Kiner-Falefa enters an ideal situation in Pittsburgh as the Pirates are in a National League playoff race, currently two games back of a wild card spot.
