Hawaii surfers to square off in Olympic semis

The 2024 Olympic surfing semifinals were pushed back from Saturday to Monday due to low waves in Tahiti.

When competition does resume, a pair of surfers from Hawaii will square off in the second women's semifinal.

Hawaii's Brisa Hennessy, who is surfing for Costa Rica, will face Kauai's Tatiana Weston-Webb in the second heat on Monday, which is tentatively scheduled for 8:48 a.m.

Weston-Webb entered the third round as the top seed in the competition.

The winner between Hennessy and Weston-Webb will advance to the semifinals and is guaranteed a medal.

Punahou alumna Carissa Moore, the defending Olympic champion, was eliminated during Thursday's quarterfinals.
