Kauai's Tatiana Weston-Webb wins Olympic silver

Kauai's Tatiana Weston-Webb was narrowly defeated in the Olympic women's surfing finals in Teahupo’o, Tahiti, losing 10.50 to 10.33.

Weston-Webb faced off against Caroline Marks in the finals, getting a 4.50 in the finals to take home the silver medal.

Weston-Webb advanced past Hawaii's Brisa Hennessy in the semifinals. Hennessy finished in fourth after France's Johanne Defay won the bronze medal match 12.66-4.93.

Surfing was held in the Olympic Games for the second time ever in 2024. Punahou alumna Carissa Moore won the initial competition at the Tokyo Games.
