HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Dean Russell Sytian and owner, Sheila Sytian, of Sheila's Den joined Wake Up 2Day with all the details on their delicious Filipino desserts.
Sheila’s Den is a Filipino-based business built on faith. Owner, Sheila Sytian, shared, "We started our business in 2020 during such an unprecedented time when the pandemic hit."
Being stuck in the house with not much to do allowed Sheila to get creative and find a passion for cooking and creating desserts. With a background of working in the food industry, more than 16 years of customer service experience and a love for food, she decided to venture out bringing you her take on modernized Filipino desserts, food and drinks.
"Our business is known for our popular mini lumpias, both savory and sweet flavors, such as Banana, Ube Cheesecake, Strawberry Shortcake, Crab, and Garlic Cheese. Next are our 'Float Desserts' which are homemade whipped cream layers on top of graham crackers that offer many different flavors. We also have Taho which is a staple in the Filipino culture, made with silken soy, tapioca, and brown sugar syrup, as well as Ube Halaya."
She said her goal is to bring people together through food, creating nostalgic treats and flavors that would bring people joy with every bite. Sheila’s Den offers pre-orders, catering and can be found at various pop-ups and events around the island.
