A magical summer for the Central East Maui Little League team has come to an end after losing 4-3 to Florida's Lake Mary Little League on Wednesday.
With the loss, Central East Maui was eliminated from the Little League World Series with a mark of 3-2, finishing fourth among teams from the United States.

After ace pitcher Evan Tavares was unavailable due to pitch count rules, Hayden Takahashi got the start on the mound and took the loss after surrendering three runs and five walks in two innings.
Down 4-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth, Central Maui scored three runs but could never scratch the tying run across despite having the bases loaded.
Central East Maui completed its second Little League World Series having previously qualified in 2019.
