Former University of Hawaii baseball coach Mike Trapasso has been officially named the new head coach at the University of Texas-Arlington.
Trapasso replaces Clay Van Hook, who went 51-63 in his two years at the helm before departing for Houston as an assistant coach.

Trapasso went 536-531 as UH's head coach from 2002 to 2021 before former athletics director David Matlin chose not to renew his contract.
After his time at UH came to an end, Trapasso was an assistant coach at Navy in 2022 and UTA since 2023.
