HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Hawaiian Airlines cancelled all roundtrip flights between Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and Hilo International Airport due to poor weather.
Though the terminal remains open there are no flights out of the airport through Saturday night.
In a statement from Hawaiian Airlines a spokeperson said:
We will cancel the remainder of today’s Honolulu-Hilo roundtrips due to poor weather. Yesterday we issued a travel waiver for guests traveling to/from Hilo or Kona through tomorrow.

DOT said, "stranded Hawaiian passengers will be allowed to remain in the sterile area of the airport. Passengers who leave the sterile area will need to be re-screened when Hilo flights resume."
