WAHIAWA, Hawaii (KHON2) -- More than 30 four-legged friends were saved from the impacts of Hurricane Hone after they were discovered at a farm in Waikane.
Oahu SPCA officials said 25 dogs and two litters with four puppies were rescued before flood waters hit the river at the site.
According to reports, some of the puppies were severely anemic from an extreme flea infestation.
Both mothers as well as 23 other dogs were unable to be caught. Staff and volunteers will continue to "humanely trap them" after the storm recedes.
