A trio of University of Hawaii football players earned Mountain West Conference weekly honors following the team’s season-opening 35-14 win over Delaware State.
Rainbow Warrior sophomore linebacker Jamih Otis was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after racking up a game-high 11 tackles (eight solo) with 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack and a quarterback hurry in his first career start.

Meanwhile, quarterback Brayden Schager earned Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four total touchdowns, completing 17 of 34 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, he ran 10 times for 38 yards and two touchdowns.
Additionally, Tylan Hines was named the Special Teams Player of the Week after a 44-yard punt return for a touchdown, Hawaii’s first punt return for a score since Scott Harding did so in 2012 against UNLV. .
