HONOLULU (KHON2) -- She dedicated four decades to the state of Hawaii, serving in various roles in both the City & County and state government.
Georgette Deemer served as the film commissioner, during which time she oversaw the development of the Hawaii film studio facility at Diamond Head.
She was the communications director for the Hawaii House of Representatives then went on to serve as the City deputy managing director before retiring in 2020.
Deemer battled cancer before passing away on Sunday at the age of 71.
A celebration of life will be held on Oct. 27 at Nuʻuanu Memorial Park. Visitation starts at 2 p.m.
