HONOLULU (KHON2) -- It's a chance for local companies to go national!
This August is the 27th annual Daniel K. Akaka American Logistics Association Hawaii Food Show! It's a chance for Hawaii business owners to interact with military exchange buyers and expand their sales beyond the islands.
Earlier this morning, ALA Hawaii chairperson Sharon Zambo-Fan joined Wake Up 2Day to share why this is exciting for companies.
"It is the annual opportunity for local companies to meet one-on-one with key military buyers who select products for inclusion in the commissaries and exchanges. We have many companies who have expanded their sales beyond Hawaii to the West Coast and throughout the US," Zambo-Fan said.
It's happening on August 12th from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Prince Waikiki, and Zambao-Fan says spots are still available.
"Visit our website or contact us at alafoodshowhawaii@gmail. We usually sell out in June, so don’t delay. Companies should sign up now, so they can participate in a June 6 advance preparation/marketing class,"
Since the show's inception, more than six thousand Hawaii products have been selected for commissary and exchange shelves on military bases across the US.
Business owners who are interested in participating can get more info here.
"Commissary sales account for $225 million annually in sales. With proven success, you can expand your sales beyond Hawaii," Zambao-Fan said.
