HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Moisture levels are still high over the state, with clouds and showers are moving in from the east and will increase in the next few hours, especially on windward areas, continuing into early morning. A drier trade wind from the east will reduce rainfall compared to last night. It will still feel humid with dew points in the low to mid 70s.
By Tuesday, the moisture will move west, leading to fewer showers. A high-pressure system north of the state will bring moderate to breezy trade winds, though they might ease slightly around Thursday and Friday. A high-pressure ridge will keep things stable, but a mid-level trough nearby will keep shower chances slightly higher than usual. Dew points will drop to the upper 60s in most areas, providing some relief from the humidity. Expect drier weather from Thursday through Saturday.
The high-pressure ridge will keep things stable through most of the week, while an upper-level trough to the west will cause occasional high clouds. Models suggest a low-pressure system might develop near Kauai on Sunday and Monday, but it likely won’t have a big impact on the local weather.
