HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The University of Hawaii has announced a strategy for improvement following a U.S. Department of Education investigation into potential Title VI violations.
President David Lassner stated that UH, along with several other universities, is being examined for adherence to Title VI, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin.
Lassner acknowledged complaints regarding anti-Semitism on campuses across the country.
“We recognize the need to revise our policies and practices to ensure effective responses to all complaints and allegations,” he said. “We will also implement comprehensive training initiatives to help our community understand these policies and procedures.”
The investigation into Title VI compliance began in March, with further developments expected as the university works to address the issues identified.
