HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Negotiations between locked-out nurses and Kapiolani Medical Center are set to resume on Friday with the assistance of a federal mediator, who was brought in on Thursday to facilitate discussions.
In a related development, the state Department of Health (DOH) is investigating two anonymous complaints regarding the hospital.
The DOH stated that the investigation is part of its standard operating procedures.
Kapiolani Medical Center acknowledged the DOH's involvement, noting that visits to healthcare facilities are not uncommon.
The hospital is cooperating fully and is committed to providing the information requested by the department.
