HONOLULU (KHON2) -- A fire at the H-Power plant in Kapolei last night has not impacted operations at the facility.
The Honolulu Fire Department reported that the fire broke out shortly before 10:30 p.m.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they discovered a smoldering fire in one of the trash pits.
Crews successfully brought the fire under control by 4:20 p.m.
According to city officials, the fire was contained to the third boiler pit, and no major damage to the facility was reported.
Operations continue as normal, with trash being sent to the plant without interruption.
