HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation (HLLF) has announced the lineup for Honolulu Pride 2024, kicking off a vibrant series of events leading up to Pride Weekend from October 17-20.
The highlight will be the Honolulu Pride Parade and Festival on Saturday, October 19, featuring headliners Marina Summers and Nymphia Wind.
“Honolulu Pride is our biggest event of the year,” said Randy Soriano, Executive Director of HLLF. “It’s a time to celebrate the MVPFAFF/LGBTQIA+ community and recognize the allies who help make Hawaii more inclusive.”
He also thanked the sponsors who have stood by the foundation year after year.
This year’s parade, the longest in Hawaii, will boast over 150 entries and more than 4,000 participants from businesses, non-profits, and local organizations.
Kicking off at 4 p.m., the parade will wind its way along Kalakaua Avenue, starting at Magic Island and ending at Kapiolani Park. Attendees can expect a special tribute to five grand marshals, all founding members of HLLF: Dr. David McEwan, Sheri Mann, David Brustein, Puakea Nogelmeier, and Bill Char.
After the parade, the festivities continue at the Honolulu Pride Festival at Waikiki Shell, opening at 5 p.m.
Festival-goers can look forward to booths, community resources, delicious food and drinks, and live performances from Marina Summers and Nymphia Wind, the latter being the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16.
Pride Weekend also includes a variety of fun events, like shows featuring Vincent Rodriguez III and Kathy Griffin at the Hawaii Theatre, an Official Opening Party at Scarlet Honolulu, and an Official After Party at Hula’s Bar and Lei Stand.
Plus, don’t miss the Rainbow Runway Drag Brunch presented by Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines at the Alohilani Resort. For all the details, check out www.honolulupride.com/events.
