HONOLULU (KHON2) - According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness Hawaii, or "NAMI", people are still struggling with mental health with a rise in depression and anxiety.
NAMI Hawaii has free programs to help support families and individuals who are struggling. They offer support groups, classes and educate youth with "Ending the Silence."
Additionally, they host the largest mental health walk in the nation, and in Hawaii, it is called NAMI Walks.
NAMI Walks brings awareness to mental health for all so that we can break the stigma around mental health. Everyone is welcome and it is absolutely free.
There are options for 1k, 5k or you can be a virtual walker.
The event will have activities for keiki up to kupuna, free games and wellness tents where people can sample activities on mental and physical wellness, food, music and fun.
