The event will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the old Sears Auto Center parking lot facing Kamehameha Highway.

The goal is to recycle at least 40,000 cans and bottles. The money collected from each recyclable item will be used to provide scholarships for local students.

Organizers are actively seeking volunteers, particularly students who can earn volunteer hours while contributing to this important cause.

In addition to the recycling drive, the initiative's founder, Genshu Price, has been recognized as a Youth Finalist for the prestigious Cox Preserves Young Heroes Award.

Price is 16 years old and from Hauula.

From Oct. 7 to Oct, 13, the public can vote for their favorite finalist. The winner will receive $30,000 in funding for their chosen nonprofit.

Winning would significantly enhance Bottles4College's ability to serve the Hawaii community. Community members are encouraged to vote and support this endeavor by voting on the Cox Enterprises website.
