HONOLULU (KHON2) -- A weak disturbance near Oahu is creating a narrow area of showers, mostly over waters northeast of Oahu and Kauai this evening. This trough will move westward and bring enhanced showers to Kauai tonight, gradually easing off by tomorrow. An disturbance southwest of the islands is too far away to affect the weather significantly, but it will push some high clouds across the skies through Friday.
Trade winds are expected to continue this weekend. There’s a chance for breezy trades to return by mid-next week, but any strong winds are likely to be short-lived due to passing cold fronts to the north of the islands.
