HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Hawaii voters can expect to receive their ballots in the mail for the 2024 General Election by Friday, October 18.
The Office of Elections has issued several important reminders for voters.
If you make a mistake on your ballot, do not attempt to correct it; instead, follow the instructions on the ballot to request a replacement.
It's also crucial to sign the ballot return envelope, as your signature is required for the ballot to be counted.
The return envelope is pre-addressed and postage-paid, so do not place a stamp on it.
Voters can sign up for free ballot notifications by visiting elections.hawaii.gov or calling (808) 453-VOTE (8683) for assistance.
For those needing assistance with voting, accessible options are available.
Voters can request an electronic ballot or visit a voter service center to use accessible voting equipment.
Importantly, ballots must be received, not just postmarked, by 7:00 p.m. on November 5, 2024. Ballots are sent only to active voters, so those who have moved and not updated their voter registration must do so to cast their ballots.
Registration updates can be made online at elections.hawaii.gov or by completing a paper Voter Registration Application available at state libraries and post offices.
