HONOLULU (KHON2) -- On June 17, at about 12:01 a.m., a 22-year-old male motorist was involved in a critical motor vehicle collision on the H-1 Freeway East, east of the Farrington Highway overpass, in the Waipahu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department that the man was speeding on the H-1 Freeway East when his vehicle traveled off of the roadway before going up a grass embankment and going airborne before coming to final rest down another grass embankment.
As a result of the collision, the 22-year-old motorist sustained injuries and was then taken to an area hospital in critical condition. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
