HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Meet Spikey, an eight-year-old, 53-pound senior dog ready to enjoy his golden years with a caring family.
Known for his laid-back demeanor, Spikey loves his daily walks and confidently navigates urban environments without being distracted by traffic.
Spikey is a social pup who has lived harmoniously with dogs of all sizes.
He enjoys playtime, sharing toys, and snuggling for naps.
Whether in a home with other pets or as the sole focus of attention, Spikey is eager to connect with a loving family.
Currently, Spikey is undergoing treatment for heartworm disease, a serious but treatable condition spread by mosquitoes.
If adopted before his treatment is complete, he will go home with his remaining medication.
As a Reid Krucky recipient, Spikey’s adoption fee is waived, and he will also receive an adoption starter kit to help him settle into his new home.
Prospective adopters can meet Spikey at the Hawaiian Humane Society's Moiliili Campus, open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
