HONOLULU (KHON2) -- To help find more than 40 kittens a fur-ever home, the Lucky Paws Animal Foundation hosted its "Kittens and Cobwebs" Halloween-themed kitty playtime on Sunday, Oct. 27.
The event aimed to help reduce the overpopulation of community cats and help minimize "the suffering of sick, injured or at-risk animals."
Keiki enjoyed a 30-minute experience with more than two dozen kittens where they enjoyed classic spooky movies and candy.
In addition, keiki and kittens enjoyed one-on-one bonding time, gentle nuzzles, rumbly purrs, acrobatic leaps and more.
By the end of the event, Lucky Paws encouraged participants to consider fostering or adopting an animal or two.
"We want to get all these kittens adopted because we have more sick and injured at-risk kittens to bring off the streets. So we have a backlog of kitty cats and we wanna get all of them into indoor homes to be loved and cherished as family members so we can help save the next cat," explained Chris Thompson, founder and director of Lucky Paws Animal Foundation.
Since it's still kitten season, officials hope the events black cat adoption specials will help alleviate overflowing of Adoption Alley to provide homes for more than 40 kittens.
