HONOULLU (KHON2) -- The heavy rain threat has ended for the islands, but windward showers will still remain active through Friday. Trade winds will peak Thursday approaching 30 miles-per-hour with lighter winds this weekend.
Tonight and Tomorrow:
- A weak low-pressure system is moving west, bringing unsettled weather with showers and possible rain.
- Flash flood risk has decreased, so the Flood Watch has been canceled.
- Tuesday will be drier and more stable, with less rain.
Later This Week:
- Remnants of Hurricane Kristy will bring more showers and possibly heavy rain to the Big Island on Wednesday.
- These showers will spread to other islands by Friday.
- Flash flooding is not expected at this time.
The Weekend:
- The weather will be drier with weaker trade winds.
- Sea breezes are expected to develop on the western slopes of the islands.
