HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Hundreds of nurses and healthcare workers at Maui Memorial Medical Center, Kula Hospital, and Lanai Community Hospital are set to strike for three days beginning Monday.
The workers are advocating for improved wages, benefits, and care standards, citing a high turnover rate that has resulted in chronic staffing shortages.
Negotiations with Maui Health will continue through Sunday, but the company has stated that temporary workers will be available if the strike proceeds, ensuring that all Maui Health hospitals and clinics remain open.
