A whirlwind and triumphant week for former University of Hawaii linebacker Jahlani Tavai ended victoriously, as the new father led the New England Patriots to victory.
Tavai became a father for the first time on Friday when his partner, Kaiser alumna and professional volleyball player Kalei Mau, gave birth to the couple's first child, a baby girl named Honua.

On Sunday, Tavai had a team-high nine tackles (seven solo) with a sack and a pass deflection for the New England Patriots in a 19-3 win over the Chicago Bears. New England improved to 3-7, winning two out of their last three.
Following the game, Tavai was one of two players to receive a game ball from head coach Jerod Mayo.
