HONOLULU (KHON2) -- A fire broke out early Thursday morning in a single-story residential home in Makiki, but was quickly brought under control by the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD).
HFD received a 911 call at 1:55 a.m. and dispatched six units with approximately 22 personnel to the scene near the intersection of Wilder Avenue and Pensacola Street.
The first unit arrived at 2:02 a.m. and found a working fire in the garage of an unoccupied home.
Firefighters immediately began an aggressive exterior attack while protecting nearby structures. A search of the property confirmed no occupants were inside.
The fire was under control by 2:05 a.m. and fully extinguished by 2:42 a.m.
No injuries were reported, and all personnel were accounted for.
An investigation is underway to determine the fire's cause and origin, as well as to assess damages.
