In recent days, Honolulu fire crews have responded four times to aid distressed hikers along the Diamond Head Trail.

To prevent similar incidents, the Department of Land and Natural Resources offers general guidelines.

Aziz Agis, who is from the department, advises hikers to conduct thorough research, assess their capabilities and carry an ample supply of water due to the scorching summer temperatures.
