HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Manager, Aaron Arellano, and Owner, Rowlinson Aczon, of Nola Cafe joined Wake Up 2Day to showcase their beignets and dish out the details with Brittni Friedlander.
Aaron shared, "Nola Cafe is a locally owned and operated cafe that specializes in classic New Orleans-style beignets with a variety of fillings. My wife is from Louisiana, so we spent a few years developing our own original recipe. Our fried doughnuts feature a traditional version dusted with powdered sugar, but we also have cream-filled variations with custard cream, chocolate, and ube fillings."
Besides beignets, Nola also offers breakfast sandwiches such as an Egg Scramble Sammy with Cheese and Bacon, and an Andouille Egg Scramble Sandwich with Tabasco Aioli. You can also expect a Southern-style casserole with ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, roasted peppers, green onions, and cheese, topped with sour cream on the menu.
As for beverages, you can find sweet tea or coffee-based beverages incorporating Kai Coffee Hawaii beans, such as their Cafe Nola, a latte with cinnamon, caramel, and chocolate.
