KAPAA, Hawaii (KHON2) -- Kauai officials responded to a brush fire in the Kapaʻa area.
KPD closed Kapaʻa Bypass but DOT said it has since reopened.
Kauai County announced just before 3 p.m. that the fire was contained but KFD remains on-site to monitor hot spots.
This is the second brush fire in just over 24 hours on Kauai.
A brush fire between Hanapepe and Kaumakani Monday scorched 1,100 acres and was 100% contained by Midnight.
The KIUC implemented a de-energization in the affected areas and restored power shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday.
No homes were destroyed and no injuries were reported.
Officials ask that the public not call 911 for updates but instead call (808) 241-1725.
