Maryknoll High School senior Jacob Remily was selected by the Cleveland Guardians in the third and final day of the 2024 MLB Draft on Tuesday.
Remily was picked in the 16th round with the 475th overall selection.
All Day 3 selections feature a slot value of $150,000, although Remily and his advisor are free to negotiate a higher signing bonus.
Remily signed a letter of intent last fall with San Jose State, but would forgo that were he to sign with Cleveland.
A right-handed pitcher, Remily intrigued scouts with his 6-foot-6 frame at low-90s fastball, as well as his feel for his secondary pitches.
