HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization (OahuMPO) has announced the launch of an online, interactive public survey aimed at gathering input for the update of the Oahu Regional Transportation Plan (ORTP).
The 15-minute survey is designed to capture residents' preferences for transportation options both within their neighborhoods and across the island.
The ORTP is a comprehensive framework outlining transportation goals, objectives, policies, and projects for Oahu.
Spanning a 25-year horizon, the plan incorporates anticipated changes in population, housing, employment, environmental conditions, land use, and technology.
It aims to develop an integrated, multi-modal transportation system that ensures safe, efficient, and economical movement of people and goods.
The plan includes specific projects for highways, transit, freight, bicycles, and pedestrian pathways to enhance safety, alleviate congestion, and boost mobility for both residents and visitors.
Survey responses must be submitted by August 31.
