On Aug. 10, the University of Hawaii football team will hold its third annual "Sistahhood Social," celebrating the women that support the program.

The fundraiser will take place on Saturday night under the lights at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.

The night will include a fun evening where women can engage with the team's players and coaches, while learning about the team in a social setting that includes food, drinks and a silent auction, among other activities.

Funds raised will go towards the program's nutrition fund.

Leading the social media promotion efforts this year was receivers coach Jared Ursua, who did carpool karaoke in the van of Sherry Chang, the wife of head coach Timmy Chang.

"It was a lot of fun, but I went into it and I was dreading it because I was trying the best I could to memorize these songs and sing with them," Ursua recalled to KHON2 sports director Rob DeMello. "And you can see, I don't know what I'm doing, but being able, when it all got said and done, to hang out with the players and have that experience and just laugh and enjoy and show people, you know that these players are great kids, they love this place and they want to do football the right way and that they would be willing to get in Sherry's van and sing a song I think is a great indicator of the willingness that they're willing to go to bring us and fulfill the dream of being able to have great football here in the state of Hawaii."

Added Sherry Chang: "He's been so awesome and such a good sport, and everything we ask him to do, he's so quick witted, funny, and he's able to pull that same energy from everybody around him. It's so contagious. That's the kind of fun that we want all the ladies coming to our event to have. Just take his lead. Follow him, and just feed off of his energy and bring that same energy to our event."

"We love that we're able to do it and host it," Ursua said. "It's a lot better organized. For some reason, the women do a better job than the guys. Not a surprise."
