HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The alleged shooter of a teenage boy who was exiting a bus was out on bail for a separate case when the incident happened.
“Mr. Ten already faces charges of Kidnapping and Sexual Assault in the First Degree in a separate case in which his victim was a minor under the age of 14. He was out on $250,000 bail pending trial in that case when the shooting on TheBus occurred,” said Prosecuting Attorney Steve Alm.
Nineteen-year-old Ten has been indicted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and three firearms offenses.
The victim, a 16-year-old high school student, was seriously injured from the gunshot but has since been released.
Ten escaped the scene on a moped driven by a yet unidentified second suspect.
Attempted Murder in the Second Degree carries a mandatory life sentence with the possibility of parole.
Ten is being held without bail until his trial.
