HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Founder, Kali'a Wasson, and Owner of Ocean Creations, Haelee Tallett, joined Wake Up 2Day with all the details on the event and the vendor marketplace coming to Ewa Beach.
"For the very first time, the Third Annual Hawaiʻi Swim Show makes its debut on the island of Oʻahu! From Friday, August 30 to Sunday, September 1, get ready for the best in resort and swimwear fashion at the beautiful Wai Kai in Ewa Beach. Showcased on a runway over Hawaiʻi’s first deep-water standing Wai Kai Wave overlooking the lagoon after sunset, this year’s show will definitely be an epic splash!"
This year the Hawai‘i Swim Show will highlight 18 locally and world-renowned designers and swimwear brands, each with their own individual exclusive fashion showcase times throughout the 3-day event, again bringing that global spotlight to Hawaiʻi fashion. With a cast of 60 models selected for their uniqueness, diversity, and character, the event remains steadfast in representation for all body types, age groups, and ethnic backgrounds. Through an open call casting, thousands of models apply each year through a very selective process for a chance to be on the iconic Hawaiʻi Swim Show runway.
Besides the swim show, viewers can shop the looks at the Vendor Marketplace that is free to the public from Saturday, August 31 to Sunday, September 1 on the Wai Kai Event Lawn from 10am to 4pm featuring 50 incredible Hawaiʻi -based brands and vendors, including swim and resort wear designers and Hawaiian cultural education booths. One of the vendors, Haelee Tallett, founder of Ocean Creations, shared her pieces that viewers could find. Haelee expressed that customization is an important aspect of her business. Something that started for her and her mom in high school, has now expanded to many stores across O'ahu. She prides her business on the customer service experience as well as the fashion and affordability you can expect with her pieces. You can find her at booth 1-2 on both days of the marketplace.
Founder, Kali'a Wasson further shared, "The first two years were successful and made history in the world of local Hawaiian talent, fashion and swimwear. Each year’s event hosted thousands of attendees and was featured on prestigious platforms and magazines, as well as attracted more than 20 million viewers worldwide. The show will not be livestreamed to the public, so viewers should purchase in-person tickets. A huge mahalo to our main sponsors this year including Wai Kai, Twin Fin Waikīkī, JSS by design, TMR Events, CNHA Kilohana Collective, Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority, and Hawaiʻi Rise Foundation."
