HONOLULU (KHON2) -- CVS Health has rolled out the updated COVID-19 and flu vaccines at its CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic locations across the country.
Patients can walk in for their vaccines or use CVS's updated online scheduler to book an appointment at their convenience.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone aged six months and older get the updated vaccines, ideally in September or October, to boost protection against current virus variants.
The CDC also suggests getting the flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time if eligible.
Dr. Sree Chaguturu, CVS Health's Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, emphasized the importance of preventive vaccines. “Vaccines are key to keeping yourself and your loved ones safe from seasonal illnesses,” Chaguturu said. “With thousands of CVS locations nationwide, getting vaccinated has never been easier.”
Patients can either walk into any CVS Pharmacy or MinuteClinic or schedule an appointment online through CVS.com or the CVS Pharmacy app. The new digital scheduling tool allows families to book appointments for up to four people and schedule multiple vaccinations in one visit.
Prem Shah, CVS Health's Executive Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer, noted that the updated scheduling system simplifies the process. “Our new tool makes it easier for patients to book appointments that fit their busy schedules,” Shah said.
CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic locations are open seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, for vaccination appointments. MinuteClinic also provides sick visits with testing for flu, COVID-19, and strep throat. For more information or to schedule a visit, patients can go to MinuteClinic.com.
