HONOLULU (KHON2) -- According to police, North Kohala patrol officers responded to a report that a small Cessna airplane made an emergency landing Wednesday morning.
The plane touched down in pasture land south of Upolu Airport in Hawi.
Upon arrival, officers contacted the pilot of the plane who stated that while operating the plane, he lost all power to the engine at around 300 feet.
The inability to control the plane caused the hard landing.
The pilot was treated at the scene for a minor injury by Hawaii Fire Department personnel and released.
