HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The publisher of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser announced they are laying off more than a dozen workers.
According to Oahu Publications, the layoff affects 13 positions in news, advertising, production and maintenance. The change includes two of the four full-time staff photographers.

Officials said the layoff only represents a small percentage of the 254 people employed by OPI.
The owners believe the recent round of layoffs will place OPI in a "stronger financial future that will better position the company for continued service to its readers and advertisers.
"We’re deeply saddened to say aloha to colleagues we admire greatly for their professionalism and service. Our gratitude for their contributions can never be fully expressed," Francis added.
The newspaper's guild said the Honolulu Star-Advertiser's subscriber base remains strong.
Changes are set to go into effect between Oct. 29 and Nov. 15.
