HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The DLNR Kaulunani Urban & Community Forestry Program is providing support to eligible applicants that promote the protection and development of urban and community forests.
Schools, religious centers, community groups, state and county agencies, and organizations are eligible to apply by Monday, July 15.
Grants will be offered in two categories:
- Arbor Day 2024 Grants - $3,000 to $5,000
- General Community Grants - $5,000 to $15,000
Projects may include community festivities around Arbor Day (November 2), planting trees and giveaway, establishing tree nurseries, invasive species managing for trees, and other related activities.
Kaululani staff will host online sessions to provide more detail about these grants:
- Monday, July 1 | 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Thursday, July 11 | 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
