On July 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2p.m., JCI Maui will host a school supply drive at the Kalana O Maui Building in Wailuku.

JCI Maui aims to ensure every child in Kula and Lahaina has the essential school supplies they need after a crucial economic relief measure following the challenges posed by the devastating fires in August 2023, which impacted many families in the area.

"We are committed to investing in Maui's future by supporting our keiki and their educational needs," stated Michelle Balala Siores, President of JCI Maui and a second-grade teacher at Kahului Elementary School.

Reflecting on her own experiences with displaced students from Lahaina, Siores emphasized the importance of community support in ensuring every child starts the school year confidently.

"Donations to the school supply drive will directly impact the lives of our keiki, allowing them to focus on learning without the worry of lacking necessary supplies," Siores added.

JCI Maui encourages everyone in the community to contribute, emphasizing the collective effort needed to achieve their goal.

In addition to accepting donations of school supplies on July 12, JCI Maui is actively seeking sponsorships to further enhance the impact of their initiative.
