HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Honolulu police are searching for the suspect involved in a serious hit-and-run motor vehicle collision on Farrington Highway in the Waianae area.
Officials said the crash happened at 3:33 a.m. when a 51-year-old male moped rider was struck by an unidentified driver while he was traveling eastbound on Farrington Highway.
Once struck, the moped rider was launched onto the roadway. The unidentified driver failed to stop and render aid or provide information.
According to police, the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the moped rider to an area hospital in serious condition.
