HONOLULU KHON2 -- Persistent strong trade winds will continue, bringing showers across most areas through Friday. Brief showers associated with these winds will move from windward to leeward areas on Oahu tonight. Expect fewer clouds over leeward areas during the weekend, while typical afternoon and evening clouds and showers will develop over the Kona slopes.
Looking ahead, breezy to windy trade winds will dominate through next week, supported by a persistent surface high north of the islands. These east to northeast trade winds will bring low clouds to windward areas, occasionally reaching leeward areas on smaller islands. Brief showers will primarily affect windward regions. The Kona slopes will experience their usual summertime pattern of afternoon and evening clouds and showers.
More sunshine to leeward areas over the weekend and into the next week. Periodic clusters of stable and showery low clouds will continue to move through, affecting mainly windward areas.
