Two players with Hawaii ties were selected in Day 2 of the 2024 MLB Draft on Monday, which consisted of rounds 3-10.
Mid-Pacific alumnus Kodey Shojinaga was taken by the Philadelphia Phillies in the sixth round with the 192nd overall selection, which carries a slot value of $310,300. Because he was invited to and attended the MLB Combine, Shojinaga is entitled to at least 75% of the slot value of his pick.

Meanwhile, Cal State Fullerton transfer and University of Hawaii commit Christian Rodriguez was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 10th round with the 309th overall selection. The slot value of his pick is worth $179,200.
Rodriguez recently turned heads in the MLB Draft League, where he tossed a complete game with 16 strikeouts in his latest start.
The 2024 MLB Draft concludes with rounds 11-20 on Tuesday.
