Public events available during Pokémon World Championships in Waikiki

HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The 2024 Pokémon World Championships registration has ended two months ago. Non-registered Pokémon enthusiasts can still enjoy a variety of free activities at Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki from Thursday, August 15 to Sunday, August 18.

Open to the public in-person activities at Hilton Hawaiian Village

Thursday, August 15

  • Dazzling Skies with Pikachu & Friends
    • An illumination show from 8 p.m. to 8:10 p.m.
  • Pokémon Worlds Trainer Town: Village Green Activities
    • 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    • Location: Village Green Area
  • Shadowless Podcast Live
    • 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • The Great Lawn, Great Lawn Main Stage

Friday, August 16

  • Pokémon Play Lab
    • 9 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, August 17

For attendees with "spectator" badges, activities will take place at the Hawai'i Convention Center from Friday, August 16 to Sunday, August 18. Activities include animation screenings, autograph sign-up drawing, collect and trade corner, genki balls, museum, merchant room, trading game pocket demo, trading card game illustration contest, and more side events.

"Competitor" badges holders will have the opportunity to compete in the Pokémon World Championships, that offers over $2 million in prizes. Registered competitors will play "Pokémon Trading Card Game," "Pokémon Scarlet" and "Pokémon Violet," "Pokémon GO," and "Pokémon Unite."

A live stream of the world championships can be viewed on the official Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels.
