Drought and wildfire seasons in Hawaii are typically during the summer and early fall months, when temperatures are higher, and rainfall is less frequent.

These conditions increase the risk of wildfires, especially in areas with dry vegetation. Additionally, El Niño events can exacerbate drought conditions in the region.

It's important for residents and visitors alike to be aware of fire danger warnings and to take precautions to prevent wildfires during these seasons.

John said to practice safe habits, if you live in a dry area, clear brush away from your house. If you are hiking make sure to throw away your trash in a designated area, especially cigarettes and flammable material. Conserving water to be sustainable is always a good idea as well. You can use rain barrels to capture water and hydrate your plants.
