The 24/7 Sports number eight recruit in the state of Hawaii for the class of 2025, Mana Carvalho, making his verbal commitment Friday afternoon.
Carvalho, a standout player for the Kahuku Red Raiders has announced he will commit to the University of Utah to play football for the Utes.
"Just being on the recruiting visit and seeing how much the coaches value me over, some other people, it meant something to me. So that's why I felt like it was home," said Carvalho.
Carvalho choosing Utah over Arizona, Boise State and Nevada. Now the defensive back will join a long line of family history to attend Utah.
"When it came down to it, the needs I wanted, was having family, having that Polynesian culture around me. Utah had the best fit, having my brothers and people that lived just right down the road from me at my house (attend the university). So it was a blessing to have those people there and it made it easy for me," said Carvalho.
Carvalho will get his senior season underway at Kahuku in hopes of winning another State Championship.
